Week 37

Hey Team...Happy Friday...the last Full Day Friday of the School Year!  And...welcome to the Last Week of School!

Can you believe it...we have spent 37 weeks together and now are in the final stretch!

This is going to be an extremely busy week.  Remember not to have a lot of "down time" for the kids. This is when behaviors increase and incidents occur.  Please keep your days as structured as possible.

Also,  I am beginning to notice students exhibiting a lot more emotional needs lately...a lot more hugs, a lot more attention seeking behaviors, a lot more melt downs...etc.  Please remember, this is an emotional time for many of them as their security and structure is being shaken...they are moving from a "known" secure day, to sometimes days that are not always as structured, and also faced with the knowledge of no longer being with you.  This is hard for a lot of kids...

Week 37 Instruction..."FINISH STRONG"

"Finish Strong" is our motto and focus for the remainder for the school year. Again, this is the time that you can provide review and reinforcement for our priority standards in ELA and Math, as well as, complete the Social Studies and Science instruction that was missed during the school year.

Please remember...this is not a time to show movies just for the convience of showing a movie.

It is very important during these last weeks to maintain a structure of teaching and learning.

Grading/Grade Book

***Grade Book closed for the trimester today.

DO NOT SHARE THIS WITH PARENTS AND STUDENTS!!!  We experienced a lot of issues with parents last year when it was publicized and we want to be able to provide you with time to complete your grading and report cards.  Work during the last week can be added in as "Participation" if needed.

Report Cards

These will be sent home on Thursday, June 11th.  Please make sure to include a Welcome Letter and Supply List attached to the Report Card.

Welcome Letters and Supply Lists

Grade Level Team Leaders please make sure to provide 100 copies of each to the Grade Level Team Lead of the grade progressing into yours...ie.  "4th provide copies to 3rd".

Do not send your Grade Level Supply List and Welcome Letters home with your current students.

NWEA Student Progress Reports

Please print out the Spring 2026 NWEA Student Progress Reports and send each student's home with them attached to their Report Card.

Room Tear Down

Room Tear Down should not begin until Monday, June 8th.  That includes all classroom bulletin boards.  Rooms should remain intact with everything up and unchanged until that day.
Remember that classrooms will be having flooring replaced and some painting done, so you will need to take all items down from the walls.  Make sure that everything is boxed up, put away and/or taken home (personal items) for ease of removal by the flooring/painting/maintenance crew.

Kindergarten Promotion Ceremonies/Gym

On Wednesday, June 10th, the gym will be used from 8:00 am to 12:30 for the four Kindergarten Promotion ceremonies.  That means that:
  • Gym classes will be in the classrooms for the morning
  • Lunches will be sack lunches and will be eaten in the class rooms.  The Food Service Department will be providing the sack lunches to all students who sign up for school lunch.

Field Day

Field Day will occur on Thursday, June 11th.  Remember to adhere to the structure and time frames which will be sent out by Ms. Williams, or your students may not be able to participate in all of the scheduled activities.  Timliness is a MUST for this event.

***ALSO...there are NO SPECIALS/TECHNOLOGY or LUNCH COVERAGES on this day.

  • Lunches will be sack lunchs and will be eaten in the class rooms.  The Food Service Department will be providing the sack lunches to all students who sign up for school lunch.

Last Day Activities

Friday, June 12th is the last day of school...and it is a Half Day with Dismissal at 11:00 am. It is also Trimester 3 Honor's Assemblies in the classroom.  In addition, some of you have planned special classroom parties for the last day of school. Please remember that since this is a Half Day, this is not a time to have parents in the classroom.

Week 34

Happy Friday Team...

We did it...we made it through another week amid some successes and some challenges.  I don't know about you, but sometimes it feels like this month will never end...and other times, it feels like it's flying!  I realize the struggle is getting really real...but we can do it.  We are down to 4 weeks...and the absolute most important thing is to maintain structure.  I know this time of the year can really feel like "baby sitting"...but now is the time to really be creative and engaging with your lesson planning and instruction, yet maintain the highest expectations and structure.  Please continue to implement this, and stress it with your students.

I hope each of you have a wonderful weekend...that you treat yourself to some well deserved rest and relaxation!  I appreciate each and every one of you!
